Key Information:
The management company of a privately-held, dynamic and growing group of manufacturing companies is looking for a Corporate Finance Leader to join the finance department of their Long Island, NY office. The management company provides financial, legal, tax, administrative and other supporting services to the manufacturing companies and their ownership.

Beyond the technical qualifications of the position, it is important that the individual demonstrates a strong character, excellent leadership and communication skills (both oral and written), and a willingness to build a solid working relationship with all functional areas, as well as with hands-on owners. The company has built its reputation in the marketplace by demanding high standards of all of its employees. However, as important as the candidate’s qualifications, is their ability to work closely with their colleagues and strive in a politics and ego free atmosphere.
The candidate should have experience in strategic finance and accounting related areas including the following:
• Financial statement preparation, standardization and management for consolidated group and the operating companies, specific duties to include:
o Monthly close preparation and financial reporting for management co.
o Preparation of combined/consolidated financial statements of the company.
o Preparation of quarterly financial statements and covenants for lenders
o Assist with fixed asset accounting and computation of tax depreciation
o Monthly entries and financial reporting for start-up entities.
o General ledger account analysis to support the accuracy of the numbers
o Maintain schedules for workers’ compensation and insurance allocations
o Review business tax returns including sales/use, property and excise taxes
o Billings and reconciliation of inter-company accounts
o Monthly allocation of bank debt and interest expense
o Maintain standardized chart of accounts for all companies
o Work with finance directors to standardize reporting & analysis
• Develop direct working relationship with ownership to use the financial statements and business intelligence to manage highly capital intensive business.
• Prepare and review family financial and liquidity statements and related investment and banking accounts
• Appraise the family of its financial position and issue periodic reports on financial stability, liquidity, and growth projects.
• Lead the annual budget process for the combined group including forecast updates of the companies’ projections
• Cross functional leadership including the development of trust and consensus building with the business teams, using integrity as the base line.
• Oversee and direct the preparation and issuance of certified financial reports with the outside Audit firm.
• Maintain good understanding of tax issues in order to develop tax planning and compliance strategies.
• Actively participate in investments and treasury decisions of the family and companies including M&A and capital raises.
